Tiki and Money—for those who do not know—are our nicknames given by the Master of All Nicknames, Partick Duffy. You will hear how we got these names when we are celebrating together in Cabo. (Patrick booked his room upon receipt of the Save the Date in May!)

Anyway, we hope to provide everyone with valuable information on TikiandMoney.com. We will continue to add to the site as new questions arise.

Our goal is to leave a few surprises.

Getting There

Major airlines that service San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD) include American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta, Southwest, United Airlines, and Aeromexico.

Nonstop flights are available in May from multiple US airports including Atlanta (ATL), Chicago (ORD), New York (EWR, JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), and Seattle (SEA). Please note, not all airlines fly nonstop to/from SJD 7 days a week.

One of the better airports we have had good experience with (if you must have a connection) is Phoenix (PHX). It’s well-managed, not enormous, and weather is almost consistently a non-issue.

Of note, if you have a connection upon your return trip, this is where you will go through customs. It is typically recommended to have a layover of at least 2 hours to ensure you make your next flight.

About Las Ventanas

When we got married at Las Ventanas in 2011 we had Gene Wilder singing “Pure Imagination” (a recording—not the actual actor) as guests walked onto the beach. The place is truly magical, as if Willy Wonka had designed it himself.

You can see a few videos at Tiki’s @carryingontravel Instagram account, but we suggest you come without too much research and just prepare to be amazed.

Butler Service

Every suite at Las Ventanas al Paraíso comes with butler service at no additional charge. It begins before the guest arrives: the butler learns all about the guests’ wishes via an advance Guest Profile form. Upon arrival at the resort, your butler is there to welcome you, tour the property, escort you to your suite, and learn more about your needs.

Your butler coordinates all special requests, from making sure a preferred beverage is always stocked in the mini bar, to arranging excursions such as horseback riding on the beach. All spa and dinner reservations can be made through your butler.

We recommend downloading WhatsApp to communicate with your butler(s) throughout your stay.

Regarding Scheduling

We want to entertain our guests but not to overschedule. When we go to Las Ventanas, we typically spend a few days at another hotel in Cabo prior to arrival. During that time, we try different restaurants and play in Cabo San Lucas. Once at Las Ventanas, we rarely leave. For those who do want to go off property, everything is a simple taxi ride away.

We built in free time after our cocktail party (ending at 8pm) on Thursday, May 15.

For Friday, May 16th, guests can elect to fish or golf. (Tiki will be at the adult pool all day.) Per our invitation, guests are entitled to a 10% discount on spa services on Friday only. We suggest you book prior to arrival. Guests are on their own the entire evening, but Tiki and Money will most likely be at La Botica that night—the speakeasy on property.

Guests have the entire day to themselves on Saturday, May 17, with our celebration beginning at 6pm sharp.

Attire

You’ll typically find a well-heeled crowd at Las Ventanas. For our cocktail party and our celebration, we are recommending resort evening attire. For men, this includes dress pants or dressier shorts with a collared shirt, polo, or blazer. For women a casual dress, blouse, slacks, or a flowy dress in a silky or linen fabric. Please wear what you find comfortable. Of note, the beach celebration may get moved to La Plaza depending on weather. Heels and dress shoes can be worn on this surface (unlike the sand).
